Proceeds from the 50/50 Raffle will directly support our many outreach activities, including a free pass for equity-deserving group members wanting to attend the Screen Summit at the International Film Festival of Ottawa (IFFO). Screen Summit is a day-long event dedicated to strengthening and inspiring Ottawa's growing screen-based industries. This industry event consists of informative workshops, artist talks and presentations that strengthen the skill set of emerging and established film industry professionals in Canada’s Capital.
Proceeds will also go towards subsidizing the Canadian Film Institute's free Accessible Membership, which allows any low-waged person, including students, seniors, patrons with disabilities or under-waged patrons to attend IFFO events at a reduced rate.
New for 2026 is For Mature Audiences, a series of outreach screenings in local long-term care facilities. Raffle proceeds will also help launch this exciting program.
These initiatives help remove financial barriers, ensuring that patrons from across Ottawa have access to world-class cultural experiences and encouraging the next generation of artists. The Canadian Film Institute's government funding, sponsorship and box office revenue do not cover all the costs associated with these initiatives, so we are counting on the 50/50 Raffle proceeds to help with the costs.
