A volcano erupts, postponing Bethany (Charli XCX) and Rob’s flight home from their romantic weekend in Warsaw. Bethany, familiar with the city, doesn’t mind the delay as she sets off, guided more by heart than map, to an old friend’s apartment.
Nel runs her family’s flower shop and is considering reuniting with an ex-girlfriend. But when Bethany shows up, calling up to her window, like a sapphic Romeo & Juliet scene, her plans change.
Over the course of only a few days, Bethany and Nel rekindle their combustible chemistry and party girl ways, leaving Rob and Nel’s friends and family alone, disappointed, and confused. Is it destiny, serendipity, or the plan all along that these two should find themselves together again?
Exploring the complexities and limits of relationships–platonic, romantic, sexual–Erupcja is a unique yet relatable story of self-sabotage and self-satisfaction.
