The International Film Festival of Ottawa is almost here! From March 13 to 24, the Canadian Film Institute will be bringing international festival films to Ottawa, with in-person film screenings, talks, and events.

As always, IFFO requires dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to keep things running smoothly. Volunteers will be needed to scan tickets at the door and help with event set-up and tear-down.

Health & Safety
We assure you that the safety of our IFFO community is our top priority. We intend to meet or exceed Ottawa Public Health Guidelines regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Wearing masks is recommended for volunteers and attendees, but not required.

What are the requirements to be an IFFO volunteer?

You must be 15 years of age or older, fluent in English, and able to commute to the venue safely. Smart Serve certification is required for any role serving alcohol or checking IDs. You must read, understand, and agree to follow the CFI Code of Conduct.

What are the first steps?

Sign up for the CFI volunteer list via the form on this page. If you’ve volunteered with the CFI before (including IFFO or EUFF, but not including OIAF- that’s a different volunteer list) then you’re already on the list!

When the IFFO volunteer schedule is ready, you will receive an email with more information about volunteering at the Festival, the volunteer shifts schedule, and instructions on how to send in your availability.

If you have any questions about volunteering for IFFO, you can email the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@iffo.ca.

You can read the IFFO 2024 Volunteer Handbook here.
